Charles T. Gibson

Charles Thomas Gibson was born March 19, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA, and passed on November 14, 2025.
Charles, fondly known to most as Chal or Chalie, embodied the spirit of kindness, wisdom, and hard work. His family often dubbed him an enigma-a scrappy protector of his 5 younger siblings growing up, someone who maintained loyal friendships across time- especially with his best friend and wife Francine, and as a father who ensured his girls were always safe. He grew up playing sports and always said if you were raised in Philly, you are 4 for 4 (Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Sixers). Chal was a lover of the outdoors- from his days spent at his hunting cabin to tending to his gardens- and those who knew him will find his memory there. Ever fun-loving, Chal was also a music connoisseur, creative in his ways to make his loved ones feel special, and steadfast in his willingness to lend a hand.

Chalie worked for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard as a shipbuilder and later relocated to Defense Logistics in Harrisburg providing logistical support to the armed services. In both positions, he was recognized with various awards for his expertise over the years. Evident in all his years of service was his diligence and patience.

Charles is survived by his wife of 42 years, Francine (Coyle) Gibson, his daughters Lauren Gibson (Seth) and Regina Gibson, his two grandchildren, Rowan and Desmond Staples, and by his mother Margaret (Manning) Gibson. Charles is also survived by his brothers Matt Gibson (Sandy), Joe Gibson (Patty), and Mark Gibson (Mary), as well as his sister Mary Snead (Bill). He was predeceased by his father Charles Gibson and brother John Gibson (Deb).
Chalie's legacy is one of strength, patience, and love. While his loss leaves a deep void, the love and kindness that he shared will be carried forward in the hearts of those that remember him. Charles will be celebrated on Saturday November 22, 2025 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., followed by a eulogy at 10:15 a.m. and a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, 41 E. Baltimore Ave, Lansdowne, PA 19050. Condolences may be offered at www.doylestonelake.com.
