Charles S. Goodman

Charles S. Goodman was born on November 17, 1930 in the South End of Boston. He was the eldest of 3 devoted sons to Miah and Ethel Goodman. Charles' first passion was music and dance, which led him to his first job as a young usher at the RKO theater. He earned the name ChaCha Charlie and carried this charm with him throughout his life. He wore many hats from serving his country in the Air National Guard, to self-employed furniture salesman, to Sargent on the Stoughton Auxiliary police force, to a patented inventor of a bottleless water drain system. But, of all the hats, the most cherished to him was that of a true family man.
Charles was a devoted husband of 66 years to Barbara, loving father of daughter Rabbi Rhonda and Robert Nebel, son Eric Goodman and Natalya, daughter Allison and Jack O'Rourke. He was the smitten grandfather of Samara Nebel and Mya O'Rourke. He was also the beloved brother of Fred and Nancy Goodman and the late Gerald Goodman and Marilyn. Charlie was a very special uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law and cousin to his large extended family which got together every weekend like clockwork.
Charlie lived a very full life of 94 years and peacefully passed away on March 23, 2025 in the loving arms of his "bride", his "beauty" Barbara. Every morning, he greeted her with a big "good morning" kiss. Together they showed us all that the secret to a good marriage is the give and take of unconditional love, a love that relies on each other's strength and support when facing whatever challenges life brings one's way. The ear-to-ear grin that took over Charlie's face when he was proud, excited, or just plain happy to see us is a gift we will all keep close to our hearts.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26th at 10:00 A.M. at Schlossberg Family's Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA followed by interment at Lindwood Memorial Park in Randolph.
Shiva will be held at the Goodman Family home on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday from 1:00-8:00 P.M. with Minyan at 7:30 P.M. each night.
