Joel C. Mann

Joel C. Mann, age 77, of Canton, was born on May 2, 1948, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, completed his earthly chapter on August 25, 2025, at Boston Medical Center-South. His life was a testament to the strength and resilience of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Joel was the beloved husband of Mary L. (Crowley) Mann for 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a family founded on love and mutual respect. He was a dedicated father to Marlene DeArruda of Taunton, Matthew Mann of Canton, William Mann of Uxbridge, and Aaron Mann of Canton. His joy was multiplied as he became the adoring grandfather of Jakob and Lukas DeArruda, whose adventures and accomplishments brought him immense pride.
Joel's siblings held a special place in his heart, and he is fondly remembered by his sister Mabel Dykeman of Norton, and brothers Wayne Mann of Carver, Glenn Mann of Brockton. He now joins his late siblings Elaine Swartz, Thomas, Albert, and Chester Mann, in peace.
His formative years were spent in the halls of Stoughton High School and Brockton Trade School, where he not only gained his education but also the discipline and skills that served him throughout his life. Joel's commitment to his country was unwavering, as evidenced by his honorable service as a proud Navy Veteran who served as a Boilerman BT3 on the destroyer U.S.S. Fiske during the Vietnam Era.
Joel's professional life was marked by his long-standing tenure at Alimed Inc. in Dedham, where he was a respected member of the Maintenance Department. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and dedication, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.
An avid fisherman, Joel found solace and joy in the quietude of nature. He cherished the times spent with his line cast into the water, waiting for the next big catch. His love for the outdoors extended to camping, where he enjoyed hiking, biking, sharing stories around the campfire and creating memories under the canopy of stars.
Joel's faith played a significant role in his life, as evidenced by his active involvement in the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton. As a Trustee, he worked tirelessly on the Building and Reconstruction Committee to upgrade the church building. He served with passion and a deep sense of responsibility. He was also an usher, a leader in the Men's Club, and the cook at the Annual Holiday Fairs. His actions were a reflection of his belief in service and community but more importantly of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a man of deep faith.
Throughout his life, Joel's kindness, unwavering support, and sense of humor touched many. He was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him, and his legacy of love, grace, compassion and perseverance will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Joel C. Mann, we celebrate the life of a man who was a true embodiment of courage, love, and humility. His memory will be cherished forever by all who had the privilege to know him.

Relatives and friends invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at the First United Methodist Church, 109 Pleasant St. Stoughton, Saturday September 13th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
