Charles Leon Green Jr., 53, passed away at home on February 22, 2025, in Pflugerville, Texas.
Chuck was born on July 7, 1971, in Richmond, California. His family later moved to Texas, where he completed high school in El Paso and then pursued his education at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned bachelor's degrees in both history and political science, fields that reflected his deep curiosity about the world and its past.
Chuck and Dawna-Kaye became friends attending the same church and serving in the singles group. After several discussions about Star Wars and spreadsheets, they realized maybe there was something more there. On May 9, 2009, Chuck married Dawna-Kaye, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion. They shared 15 wonderful years of marriage and raised two sons, Harry (12) and Alex (10), whom Chuck cherished deeply. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in being a husband and father.
Chuck is survived by his loving mother, Kathy Green; his sisters Kathleen Castanon and Susan Green; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Leon Green Sr.
Beyond his family life, Chuck had a passion for many things that brought him joy. He was an avid fan of all things Star Wars and could often be found discussing the intricacies of the saga with friends. His love for Texas Longhorns football ran deep, and game days were always special occasions for him. He also enjoyed engaging conversations about the Bible, politics, and his extensive comic book collection-topics that sparked lively discussions with those around him.
Despite facing numerous medical challenges throughout his life, Chuck remained resilient. He endured pain and suffering but never let it define him; instead, he maintained a positive outlook that inspired those who knew him. His strength and perseverance were testaments to his character.
A memorial service will be held on February 27, 2025, at Parkway Bible Church in Pflugerville, Texas, beginning at 3:00 PM. A visitation will take place on March 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, Texas. A graveside service will follow on March 3, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton at 10:00 AM.
Chuck's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
