Dessie Mae Vandeventer Wilson, aged 106, of Denton passed away on August 23, 2025, in Lewisville, TX. Dessie was born on October 7, 1918 to Elmer and Maude Edens Vanderventer in St. Paul Arkansas.

Dessie was a homemaker, also retired from the Emily Fowler Library. Dessie loved sewing and flower gardening. Dessie attended school at Center Point in Denton.

Dessie was married to Joel "Cliff" Wilson for 72 years.

Dessie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers Marvin "Joe", Ethridge "Buss", and Elmer Jr. two Sisters Bea McCleve and Eva Wilson, and two grandsons Steve and Bobby.

Dessie is survived by two son's Robert Wilson of Denton, and Michael and wife Alice Faye Wilson of Keller, Sister Betty Adams of Fort Worth. Dessie is also survived by two grandsons, Donald, and Rickey and one granddaughter Sharon Wilson Deares. She has six great granddaughters, and two great great grandchildren, many nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles, and her church family.

Dessie was a member of the Denton Church of Christ for almost 70 years.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 2:00p.m. at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, TX. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Visitation will take place before and after the service.
