Charles L. Happy, age 72, of Litchfield, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at his home. He was born January 22, 1952, in Monroe, MI to Charles R. and Leona E. (Kellicut) Happy. Charles married Janine Wonders on September 12, 1975, and she survives.
Charles graduated from Dundee High School. He was a lifelong farmer, but also spent several years working for Eckrich in Quincy. Outside of farming, he had a passion for observing and researching all different kinds of insects. He was also a longtime 4H leader and member of Countryside Bible Church in Jonesville.
Surviving besides his wife, Janine, are four children. Matthew (Julie) Happy of Jackson, Kristina Happy of Hillsdale, Nathan (Tamika) Happy of Kincheloe, MI and Elizabeth (Tim) Batterson of Hillsdale; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dale (Connie) Happy, Gale (Brenda) Happy, Keith (Janet) Happy and Dennis (Lisa) Happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Charles Happy will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield with Pastor Wally Metts officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County or Countryside Bible Church.
