Charles Montez Head, age 56, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown. Born on September 26, 1968, in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Mabel Head and Charles Vance.
Charles had a passion for sports, particularly football and basketball, and enjoyed playing chess, golf, and cards. He also cherished attending horse races and actively participated in his church community, where he sang and played the drums in the church choir for many years.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Head, and his nephew, Darrius Vance.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Jayvon Head; daughters, Jayleigh Head and Jaylen Wells; sisters, Norma Thomlinson, Ioana Grant, Stacy Williams, Teresa Vance, and Joyce Ann Vance; brother, Charles Towler; and stepmother, Mary Jane Vance. Charles is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
