Charles E. "Chuck" Hodgson

Charles Hodgson, 57, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, after a prolonged illness.

A proud graduate of Newark High School, the University of Delaware, and Wilmington University, Charles earned his degree in accounting but soon discovered his true calling lay beyond the confines of a traditional career. His interest in hospitality led him to the restaurant industry, where he made a lasting impact. Charles held management roles at Deer Park Tavern, Stewart's Brewing Co., and TGI Fridays, before becoming co-owner of two Rehoboth Beach establishments: the Pickled Pig Pub and the Pig & the Fish.

Charles was predeceased by his father, Brian. He is survived by his devoted mother, Patricia; his loving brother Thomas, and wife, Alida; and his cherished nephews, Lucas, Nico, and Rafael. He also leaves behind his aunt Sandra and Errol Betzenberger, cousins Jim and Sue Betzenberger, and Lee and Kara Betzenberger.

Charles-affectionately known to many as "Chuck"- will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. His love of football, legendary golf trips, and ability to bring people together made him a treasured friend to many. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Charles's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home on Concord Pike.
