Charles L. Hoffman

Charles "Charlie" L. Hoffman, age 87 of New London, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. Charlie was born on June 12, 1938 to the late Sidney and Marcella Hoffman. He married Helen Cmereck in October 23, 1981. She preceded in death in 2022. Charlie worked at Hillshire Farms for 43 years. He was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. When he retired, he started a side business mowing laws. Charlie enjoyed going to Pup's Irish Pub.

Charlie is survived by his children, Veronica (Randy) Johnson and Richard (Deanne) Togstad; grandchildren, David (Michelle) Togstad, Adam Togstad, Emily Togstad, Nathan Togstad, Tyler Togstad, Jennifer (Michael) McPeak and Alex Togstad; great-grandchildren, Mason, Ryker, Flora, Maverick and Novan and daughter-in-law, Rosie Togstad.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; daughter, Tanna Togstad and son, Jeff Togstad.

The Funeral Service for Charlie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Charles served his country in the US Army and full military honors will be held at the funeral home following the service. A private family burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Town of Lebanon.
