Charles Hopper Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 14, 2023.
Charles (Chuck) E. Hopper, age 68, passed away on March 11, 2023 after a long illness. He was born in Seattle, WA on September 29, 1954, son of the late Edward and Frances Hopper. He is survived by his spouse, Rhonda Hopper; two sons, Tim Hopkins and Adam Hopper; five daughters; Paula Hopper, Tonya Reid, Monica Hopper, Ashley Hopkins and Shayla Hopper, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; Deborah Jacobson and Sandra Burt and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister Scherry Ulrich and brother Richard Hopper.
Chuck was raised in Seatac and attended Tyee High School, he then worked on the Seattle Waterfront. Chuck was a mechanic. There was nothing mechanical that he could not figure out. He met the love of his life in 1988 and then relocated to Pierce County where he began driving a forklift for Commencement Bay Corrugated.
Chuck was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He had a heart of gold.
Chuck's antics were legendary and those who knew him have their own stories to tell. He said what he meant and meant what he said. He was unafraid of speaking up on what he believed in. He enjoyed telling stories, jokes and always teasing children with his prosthetic leg.
The simplest things in life brought joy to Chuck. He had a love for hunting, fishing and rocking out, but his true love was for anything cars. He had an unquenchable thirst for racing. He had an immense passion for fast cars and hot rods. He was an avid lover of NASCAR and his favorite scent was the smell of burning rubber.
Chuck touched the lives of so many people. He will be truly missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
Private graveside service to be held at the Orting Cemetary on Saturday April 1, 2023 at 10:00AM.
Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
