Charles Edward Horvath, 78 years old, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Charles was born on January 27, 1946 in South Bend, to the late Gabriel John and Yolanda (Kielton) Horvath. On April 8, 1967, Charles married the love of his life Veronica "Kay" Wilkinson, who preceded him death in 2018. Charles was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Charles Hurley and Harold Wilkinson.
Left to cherish their memory of Charles are his children, Mark (Lisa) Horvath and Bradley (Debbie) Horvath; grandchildren, Nicole (Mikey) Klodzeij, Lea (Colton) Dutton, Anthony (Rebecca) Horvath, Jesse (Ashley) Horvath, Cody Horvath, and Heather Horvath; great-grandchildren, Abagail & Owen Seitz, Harper and Gunner Horvath, Emory Dutton, and Veronica and Charlotte Horvath; as well as his godson, Colby Sassano. Charles is also survived by his siblings, Bernie (Judy) Horvath, Joan Hurley, Robert (Cheryl) Horvath, Kevin (Marty) Horvath, Maureen (Joe) Sassano, Brian (Laura) Horvath, Candi Wilkinson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Charles was a machinist, drag racer, and an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed GLNFCC racing circuit, fishing, and spending time with his family. Racing, fishing, and family basically encompassed his whole life. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation for Charles will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd, South Bend, IN. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 13, 2024 with a one-hour visitation prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
