Charles David “Dave” Jarvis, 72 of Redmon, IL formerly of Arcola, IL passed away at 3:07 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM (Noon) to 2:00 PM on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery.
Dave was born on October 17, 1951 in Perry County, IN to Ollie Franklin and Beulah Mae (Sago) Jarvis. He married Sherry Clark, she passed away in 1977. He later married Linda Mae Sandifur on April 7, 1979 in Hammond, IN. They had been married for 44 years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Jarvis, seven children, Donnie Jarvis of Owensboro, KY, Kathy Walker of Owensboro, KY, David Jarvis (Karen) of Belleville, IL, Melinda Jarvis (Larry Trotter Jr.) of Charleston, IL, Jamie Jarvis of Champaign, IL, Eric Jarvis of Redmon, IL, and Nathan Jarvis (Merideth) of Mattoon, IL, ten grandchildren, Patrick Jarvis (Kaylie Kirby), Brittany Sullivan (Shawn), Rachel Blair, Trace Trotter, Trevin Trotter, Gage Jarvis, Tressa Trotter, Kiera Trotter, Shyanne Trotter and Nevaeh Elizabeth Jarvis, four great grandchildren, Nova Kay Jarvis, Serenity Mae Sullivan, Abigail Hazel Hash and Haddie Marie Jarvis, one brother, Kenny Jarvis (Susanne) and one sister, Wanda Boren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sherry Clark Jarvis, three brothers, William “Bill” Jarvis, Franklin Jarvis, and Everette Jarvis, and three sisters, Addie Mae Shelman, Mary Elliott, and Louise Carrol, and grandchildren, James Sherman Blair Jr., and Tristan James Charles Jarvis and a grandchild born sleeping.
Dave was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and brother-in-law. He loved to go fishing and spend time outdoors. You could find him tinkering in the garage or the yard. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He loved his fur babies, Peaches and Bella. Although Dave was a family man, he also loved his job, driving semis for 40 years.
