Charles Norman Kidd

Charles Norman Kidd, also known as Norman, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2024, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina, after a brief illness. Born on July 27, 1935, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, he was 88 years old at the time of his passing.
Norman led a life filled with dedication and passion. He had an impressive work history, having worked at Kellwood Company, Ruth Originals, and Wilson Art throughout his career. Normans interests included a love for all sports, particularly basketball and fishing. He found solace in nature and had a deep affection for animals.
During his time in the Air Force, serving in the Korean War from 1952 to 1956, Norman demonstrated exceptional skill in boxing and became the Golden Glove Champion. He was proud of his service to his country. Norman graduated from Edneyville High School and remained a lifelong resident of Henderson County.
Norman was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Upward Road and found solace and strength in his faith. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Chinea Lois Kidd, his father, Charles N. Scarborough, his son, Roberto Felipe Kidd, and his sister, Joyce Dalton (Dennis). Norman leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his beloved wife of 53 years, Kitty Hardin Kidd, his sons Charles N. Kidd Jr., Ricardo M. Kidd, and Walter C. Kidd (Debbie), his granddaughter Jennifer M. Kidd (Chris), his great-grandchild Jules M. Kidd, his sister Theresa Davidson (Don), his brothers Burton Kidd (Ruth), Jerry Kidd (Lois), Terry Kidd (Mary), and Rick Scarborough (Norma).
A funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Cesar Perozo officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Norman will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, strength, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
