Charles Kittle

Charlie " Botch " Kittle, age 78, of Avon, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born July 20, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Ray and Doris (nee Buckeye) Kittle.

Charlie grew up in Cleveland and attended John Marshall High School. In 1966 he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country as a communication technician. When he was discharged, he remained in Hawaii, his last duty station, for several years to continue enjoying the perks of the island, especially surfing. Eventually, Charlie made his way back to the Cleveland area, where he began work in the Brookpark Ford Plant Powerhouse. He faithfully worked his way from general laborer to foreman and was the supervisor of maintenance when he retired after 45 years, all of it at Brookpark. He was also a proud member of Local #18 Operating Engineers. While working at Ford, Charlie met his wife Arlene when the plant opened to women, and she was one of its first hires. They were married on February 28, 1980 and enjoyed 45 years of marriage. Charlie enjoyed bowling, golfing, and flying planes with his brother in law. He was a great storyteller, loved to tell a good joke, and always had at least one dog who claimed him as its "person". But time with family was his favorite pastime, especially watching his grandkids play their sports which he never missed.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Arlene (nee Bykowski) Kittle; loving son Charlie (Anne) Kittle and their children Camryn, Jackson, and Brandon; dear sister Kathy (David) Carlisle; and three daughters and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers Ray and David Kittle.

The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd, Avon, OH 44011.
