Charles Kenneth Leinen Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as Chuck, passed away on October 24, 2025, at the Cottages in Marinette, Wisconsin. Born on May 14, 1943, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, Chuck's journey through life was marked by an infectious enthusiasm and a zest for living that touched everyone he met.
Chuck's early years in Iron Mountain laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and the love of family. He carried these values throughout his life and into his career as the owner of Peshtigo Auto Sales. His passion for selling cars was evident to all who worked with him, creating not just customers, but lifelong friends.
On September 2, 1989, Chuck married the love of his life, Karen, and together they shared a love for dancing, traveling, and experiencing life's adventures. A true competitor at heart, Chuck played in numerous chess tournaments across the United States, always bringing his friendly and courageous spirit to the game. His love for running was just as strong, and he participated in many marathons, showcasing his determination and strength. And was a member of the Peshtigo Lions Club.
Chuck's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Karen, and his loving children: Holly (Richard) St. Vincent, Jodi Miller, Vicky (Gary) Anderson, Dawn (Shaun) Herring, Bernard (Jen) Berry Jr, and Jeffery Berry. His brothers Mitch (Shelly) Leinen and Thomas (Naida) Leinen, along with 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory.
He was preceded in death by his son Billy Joe Leinen, his parents Charles Sr. and Emily Leinen, and his sisters Virginia Gardiphy and Debbie Paquette.
Those who knew Chuck will remember him as the epitome of friendliness, and kindness. He was a man who made a lasting impact on his community, both through his business and his personal interactions. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will remain a guiding force in the lives of those he loved.
Charles Kenneth Leinen Jr.'s story is one of a life well-lived, a life filled with joy, and a deep-seated love for family. As we say goodbye to Chuck, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the world and the countless hearts he warmed. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on, inspiring all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
The Leinen family will receive family and friends on Friday November 7th from 1PM until 3PM at the Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3PM.
