Charles "Charlie" Littrell, 91, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully, April 5, 2023, at home. He was born in Pacific, Missouri on June 23, 1931, to William and Stella Littrell. He was a first-generation graduate of Washington University in St. Louis.
Charles was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served 21 years in the US Army achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class-E7. For his service, he earned multiple commendations including the Vietnam service medal. After retiring from active duty, he served 22 years for Mingo Job Corp working with underprivileged youth in the culinary field.
Charles was a huge movie buff. His hobbies included cooking, gardening and fishing, but his true passion was spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shizuko "Susie". They shared 59 wonderful years together. He leaves behind his children, Patty Poma (Larry), Trisha "Saki" Parks, Raymond Littrell (LuAnn), Charlotte Reed (Alan), He also left behind seven grandchildren, Erika Presley (Dave), Jessica Prunkard (Luke), Jacob Reed, Suzanne Willis (Tim), David Reed,Ryan and Justin Hilliker as well as several great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter on the way.
Visitation for Charlie will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, April 10 from 4-6:00 PM with services starting at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Salvation Army.
