Charles Nelson Lowe

Charles Nelson Lowe, 83, of Greencastle, PA, passed away, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Meritus Medical Center.
Born Tuesday, March 10, 1942, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late William Reid Lowe and the late Josephine Marguerite (Zimmerman) Lowe.
Charles was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, class of 1960.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later was employed for 30 years as a Machinist at Mack Truck.
He was an accomplished musician, he played for the Army Band, Buzzards, Comin' on Country, Aces Up and Powder Keg. In 1984, Charles placed seventh in the Seagram's 7 National Battle of the Bands in Nashville with the Buzzards.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lowe, daughters, Kearse (Keith Remsburg) Lowe and Danielle (Kenneth) Atherton, grandson, Cole Michael Lowe, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cats.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Lowe, brother, Don Lowe, sister, Kay Albright, and brother, Thomas Lowe.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. N. Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Inurnment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington County Humane Society, 13011 Maugansville Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
