Danville – Charles "Ed" McClain, Jr. passed away on Sunday February 23, 2025.
Ed was the son of the late Charles and Ruth Jane (Smith) McClain. He graduated from Danville High School in 1971, and attended the Millwood Church of Christ, where he made coffee for the congregation every Sunday morning. He enjoyed woodworking and watching the cars go by (aka, napping).
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Larry) Weckesser; his granddaughters, Caroline, Elizabeth "Lizzy", and Rebecca; siblings, John (Deb) McClain of Danville, Bonnie (Ron) Wallace of Danville, Nora Brooks of Danville, and Richard (Donna) McClain of Mount Vernon, brother-in-law, Danny Ash of Mt. Vernon, many nieces and nephews and friends, including his good friend, Don Leo.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Molley Sue Ash.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the Millwood Church of Christ, 10900 Millersburg Rd. Howard, 43028. Dave Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the church on Friday from 5-7:00 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made to Camp Wakitomika, where Ed was in charge of cooking the hog for the annual roast. They can be mailed to 21253 Township Road 372 Walhonding, OH 43843.
