Charles William McCurdy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles William McCurdy, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on January 1, 2026, at the age of 73. Charles was born on January 19, 1952, in Ligonier, the son of the late Clarence "Pete" Smith and Edna Grace McCurdy.

Charles was a man full of immense kindness, who devoted his life to his family and work. He cherished the simple joys of life, finding fulfillment in hunting and raising hunting dogs, taking care of his animals, collecting coins and sharing moments with those he loved.

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Sharon and Crystal McCurdy, and his son, Charles McCurdy, Jr. He took pride in being the grandfather of Tyler McCurdy and Anthony Malachina and was overjoyed by the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Ava McCurdy.

Charles's gentle spirit and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his wisdom and life experiences enriched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

He enjoyed spending his time hunting and raising hunting dogs, taking care of his animals and collecting coins.
