Charles Hiram McKoin, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and outdoorsman, Charles lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.

Born in 1937, Charles built a remarkable career as a tie-end foreman, working on pipeline projects across the United States and Brazil. His expertise and dedication were instrumental in the construction of the Alaska pipeline, originating from the rugged terrain of the North Slope— a testament to his grit and determination.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished time spent with his family and was most at peace in the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies—they were lifelong passions that connected him to nature and tradition.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Marie McKoin, and his parents, Harry and Florine McKoin. He is survived by his two sons, Randy McKoin, wife Kathy, and Tommy McKoin; his grandchildren Katherine McKoin, Anna Palowsky, husband Zach, and Kaylee McKoin and Dalton Ellis. His legacy lives on in their hearts and in the stories they’ll continue to share.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of the land, and the quiet wisdom he o ered to those fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral services for Mr. McKoin will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Rowland Road Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
