Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Marie McKoin, 83, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Rowland Road Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.
Mrs. McKoin was born September 27, 1941, in Arkansas, and passed away January 14, 2025, in Monroe, LA. She was a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church in Monroe.
Evelyn and Charles were married for 64 years. Evelyn was an avid reader and loved to cook. She enjoyed having all of her family around her at during the holidays. Evelyn always loved playing dress up with her granddaughters when they were young. She loved to “dress” and had a stylish sense of fashion.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hazel Nowlin; her brother, Jimmy Nowlin; and her sisters, Shirley Carroll, Janice Baldwin, and Carolyn Bahn.
Survivors include her husband, Charles McKoin; her sons, Randy McKoin and wife Kathy, and Tommy McKoin; granddaughters, Katherine McKoin, Kaylee McKoin, and Anna McKoin Palowsky and husband Zach; and her sisters, Dorothy Duncan, Chris Williamson and husband Steve, and Toni Elliott and husband Mark.
Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Bonnett, Jimmy Nowlin, Jr., Chuck Duncan, Brian West, David Nowlin, and Timmy Nowlin.
