Melinda Lambert McKoin, age 63, of Pine Bluff, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024.
Born August 28, 1961 at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Raymond Lambert and Ruth Virginia Yarbrough Lambert. She graduated from Chapel Academy in 1979 where she excelled at basketball and track – earning a scholarship at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Melinda was a homemaker and enjoyed working in the yard and making her house spotless; however, she had the most joy with just being around her family and bragging on her only son and her two grandchildren. She felt blessed being able to spend her entire life with her mom and dad, sister, and brother just a few miles away. She looked forward to gathering with friends and family at cookouts and Bunco parties.
She had a big heart for animals, especially dogs. She could not turn away an animal no matter how sick they were. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her family in Hot Springs and being on the lake.
Survivors include her husband, Tracy Edward McKoin, whom she married on March 16, 1979; a son, Heath McKoin (Meredith); two grandchildren, Madison McKoin and Cooper McKoin; a sister, Diane Lambert Kelnhofer (Joe); a brother, Michael Lambert (Kim); brother-in-law, Buster McKoin (Kellie); sister-in-law, Lonie McKoin; along with nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Cottrell officiating. Interment will be in Rowell Cemetery in Cleveland County.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Jefferson County Humane Society, or your local animal shelter.
