Charles "Buddy" Francis McNulty, age 86, of Brighton Township, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.
Born on September 30, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to loving parents Leo and Catherine McNulty, Charlie was raised with strong family values, faith, and a spirited sense of humor that would carry him throughout his life.
After graduating from high school, Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he began a long and dedicated career as a truck driver for the Ford Motor Company, where he worked until his retirement.
In April of 1971, Charlie married the love of his life, Beatrice Rizzo. Together, they shared over four decades of marriage, raising two beloved children, Carla and Chuck, and creating countless cherished memories filled with laughter and love.
Charlie will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, his quick wit, and his stubborn yet endearing spirit. He had an infectious sense of humor and a unique ability to make those around him smile. Known as the life of the party, he was never without a funny remark or one of his signature catchphrases-favorites being "Are we having fun yet?!" and his playful line to cashiers, "Cash or money?"
He is survived by his loving daughter, Carla McNulty; his cherished siblings, Tommy "Brennan" McNulty and Joan Marie (Don) Droelle; and many dear family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beatrice Rizzo-McNulty, and his son, Chuck McNulty.
Visitation will take place on Monday, November 3, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in Brighton, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 4, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Brighton.
Friends may gather at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Military Honors will take place directly after mass, at the church.
Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Charlie "Buddy" McNulty will be remembered for his laughter, warmth, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. His legacy of love and humor will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
