Chuck was born on March 30, 1950, in Memphis, TN to the late Ewey Paul and Patricia Mitchell. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife Rachel Mitchell, daughter Melissa Falwell and husband Brian and four grandchildren who he loved more than the world. Ashleigh and Averie Cobbs, Michael and Everleigh Falwell.

Chuck is also survived by two brothers, Phillip Mitchell and wife Penny, Perry Mitchell, and wife Cathy, three sisters, Paulette Johnson and husband Pete, Suzanne Hill and husband Jon, and special Uncle Ted and wife Sharon.

Chuck was an Electrical Supervisor for Quality Electric for over 40 years. He loved to cook anything but especially BBQ and Brunswick Stew. It was loved and often requested. Chuck was in many cook-offs and festivals including the Butner Chicken Pickin for over 15 years. He won several competitions and awards. He was so proud of his accomplishments with Mitchell’s Hog-Wild BBQ!

He fished most of his life and was a member of Hibernia Bass Masters Club. Chuck admired his time spent (and it was a lot) with his two favorite buddies Ray and Marvin. He made sure we always had fish to eat.

Chuck had a love for classic cars and would be found at local Cruz ins in NC and VA with his 1969 Nova and 1983 C10 truck named Memphis.

He also loved gardening and spent a lot of time planting a garden with his granddaughter Everleigh. He always wanted to have plenty of tomatoes for him and Everleigh.

Chuck fought a hard fight since Christmas and overcame so many obstacles. On May 7, 2025, he was welcomed home where we will soon meet him again. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations to made to your charity of choice in his honor.

A celebration of life will be held at Lake Holt in Butner on Monday May 12, 2025 at 1 p.m. Chuck loved fishing at Lake Holt and it quickly became his favorite spot.
