Charles Monk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Dec. 12, 2024.
Today, we celebrate the life of our beloved, Charles Alvis Monk, who departed too soon from us Monday, December 9, 2024. Affectionately called Alvis, by his family, was born on March 27, 1970, in Pine Bluff to parents, Robert E. Monk Sr and Lillie "Honey" Monk. He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, three sisters, two nephews, and one niece. He is survived, in life and will be sorely missed by many. His two beautiful daughters, whom he loved dearly, Lucy and Haleigh Monk. Brothers; Billy W. Monk Sr. and wife, Terri. Robert E. Monk Jr. and wife Barbara. Sisters; Lillie M. Souder and Helen M. Monk. and a multitude of nieces and nephews like Timothy Furr. TJ, Marlena, Destiny, and Isaiah held a very special place in his heart.
Charles' love for the outdoors was shaped through countless adventures with his father at a young age. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, mud riding, and spent many weekends around campfires sharing his stories. Some of his fondest times were spent with his nephews, Lige Monk and Lil Wayne Gibson(Melissa and children). From river adventures to duck blinds to deer woods, these memories will be forever treasured.
Charles spent the last 19 years with and leaves behind, the love of his life, Melissa Strange. Her children became his, her family became his, and his four beautiful grandchildren; Olivia, Noah, Oliver, and Ivy thought the world of their Pop Pop.
He and Melissa built a beautiful life together. His friends, old and new, were his life; from workdays turning into some of the most fun weekends with Jim and Chrystal, to much needed weekend getaways with Ronnie and Melissa, to cherished celebrating of life's events with Terry and Georgie, to name a few. Charles often shared with Melissa just how meaningful his life had become because of all of the people in it, whether they knew or not, and left this world hoping that all of you know just how loved and adored you were.
His passing will leave a huge hole in the hearts of so many, and we look forward to the day we will all be reunited again. Maybe by then, he will have gotten that big buck!
