Charles Kenneth Moore was born in Fort Lupton, Colorado on July 14, 1932, to Claud and Marie Moore. He was given the nickname Happy.later shortened to Hap. For the remainder of his life, he was known to family and friends affectionately as Hap.
The family moved from Colorado to Stanislaus County in 1938 when Hap was 3 years old. He lived in Stanislaus County the remainder of his life.
Hap attended Turlock High School where he excelled in football, and track and field. His focus was machine mechanics. After graduation Hap was drafted into the Army, on his return he married Maxine Thompson. Hap worked at Turlock High School and Campbell Soup. Subsequently Hap went to work for the City of Modesto. He retired from the city after 28 years of employment.
Hap doted on his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved animals and they loved him. Hap enjoyed traveling with family and friends but was always ready to get back home.
Hap passed away peacefully after a brief illness at home surrounded by his family.
Hap is survived by his wife, Maxine Moore. Charles and Maxine were married in Turlock, California on December 5, 1953. They were devoted to each other for 69 years.
He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Rickey Moore (Sharon) of Escalon, CA, Colleen Bergman (Gary) of Everson, WA and Sandra Goodson of Modesto, CA.
Hap is also survived by his grandchildren Keith Goodson, Christopher Goodson, Cory Bergman, Andrew Bergman, Daniel Bergman, Angela Quinteros, Jordan Amarant and Alicia Amarant; and his great grandchildren Christian Goodson, Isak, Ben, Levi, Sean Bergman, Torin, Lukas Bergman, Emery, Summit, and Birdie Bergman. Tony, Elion and Levi Quinteros, Kaylee and Jax Amarant.
Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday February 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Graveside Service for family members will be held on Saturday, February 18, at 10:00 AM at Turlock Memorial Park. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 18 at 11:30 AM at Valley Christian Center in Ceres.
