Charles Morris Obituary
Born January 5, 1957 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Charles W. Morris Jr. and Sylvia (Ruble) Morris.
Charlie graduated with honors from AC Reynolds High School in 1975 and received his BA in Biblical Studies from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. He went on to earn his Master's Degree in Nutrition-Dietetics from UNC Chapel Hill.
He was involved with the Peace Corps in Western Samoa for three years, and was the WIC Director for the Government of Guam for 30 years.
Charlie loved God, family, friends, and food, though not necessarily in that order. He was a devoted member of Faith Presbyterian Christian Reformed Church of Guam. He loved Guam and made many friends there.
Charlie dedicated his life to serving others in need. He was a great son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his brother, Jerome "Jerry" Morris (Diane Harrell Morris) of Black Mountain; and three nephews: Michael B. Morris (Emily G. Morris) of Nashville, NC, Stephen L. Morris of Asheville, and Joseph W. Morris of Black Mountain; and one grand-nephew, Levi Morris of Nashville, NC.
Graveside services will be private.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Thank you Charlie for your trust and confidence when you worked really hard for me to take the reigns of Guam´s Preventive Health Block Grant back in 2008. I have many many fond and happy memories of you. I will never forget your very kind heart, and kindered spirit. May you rest in Peace and Love sir, together with our Lord. A life well lived!

My condolences on the loss of Charlie. He will be missed. There was so much passion in Charlie while working with us at WIC, his work is to be respected and commended. One of my fondest memory of Charlie is watching him dance with so much energy and enthusiasm at one of our department events. May Charlie rest in Pease.
