Charles Edward Murphy 80 passed away peacefully January 06,2026 at the Monroe City Manor, Monroe City, Missouri.

Charles, known mostly as Chuck, was born January 12,1945 in Koshkonong, Missouri the son of Ralph Doyle and Mary Oneda (Jewell) Murphy.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, Thayer, Missouri. Chuck was a graduate of Koshkonong High School, Koshkonong, Missouri. He then graduated from SMS University, Springfield, Missouri with his BS degree. Chuck retired as a Corrections Officer at Potosi, Missouri. He loved to watch Westerns, hunting and was an avid gun collector. His previous passion was his previous and long business as the owner of Jolly Roger Pizza Place in Mammath Spring, Arkansas. His pizzas were so famous that when the business was sold, they kept the name and many recipes. He worked along his staff making his famous pizzas including the "Wildmans Delight", which was a favorite He didn't know a stranger and would often go out to the customers table and visit.

Survivors include one sister Dorothy Johnson, Monroe City, Missouri. Two nieces Jenniger Freels of New London, Missouri and Mary Schaible (Russ) of Taylor, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date in his hometown area. He was a well-known friend and loved family member that will be missed. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Online condolences can be made at garnerfuneralchapelcom.

We miss Chuck and the great times we had at the Jolly Roger in Mammoth Spring, AR while growing up on the MO/AR border. I´ve never had a pizza as delicious as his were. RIP Chuck
