Charles R. Mussatto

Charles R. Mussatto passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the age of 93. Loving father of Michael (Lori) & Jeffrey (Jennifer) Mussatto; dear grandfather of Mitchel, Steven, Hailey, Ryan (Austin), Alex (Kali) & Madeline; great grandfather of Declan & Caden; Cherished brother of the late Frank Jr. (Arline), the late Raymond (Joyce), Fred (Donna) Plesha, Norma (the late Paul) Mistal; uncle of many.
A member of the United States Marine Corp, Charles served in the Korean War. Afterward, he began a 39-year career as an Ornamental Ironworker and was a Union member of Ironworkers Local 63 for 69 years, Charles started a respected legacy at Local 63 with son Michael and grand-children Mitchel and Steven following his path.
Charles was an incredibly loyal and generous person, helping all who asked. He gave to many charities and loved animals both domestic and wild.
Sunday morning breakfast was a special time for Charles, rotating between sons and siblings with a box of donuts and treats for all his grand-animals.
Sunday in the fall was even more special when the Bears were playing.
When he wasn't spending time with family, Charles enjoyed activities such as card games or bingo. He was an avid card player and always had a story about his latest game ready to tell. He also could be found under the hood of his many fixer uppers that he loved tinkering with in his 3-car garage.
Funeral Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Service at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads, Hillside. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
