Charles Muzio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Legacy Center - Nicholasville on Jun. 12, 2025.
Charles G. Muzio, Sr., age 90, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2025. He passed away at his Assisted Living apartment in Lexington, Kentucky following a brief illness.
Charles (Chuck) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 20, 1934, the son of Rocco and Francesca (Spadaro) Muzio.
Chuck was raised in South Philadelphia where he was a standout athlete at South Catholic High School. He attended the University of Dayton on a full scholarship, where he was a standout football and baseball player earning varsity letters in both sports.
At Dayton he met his wife LuAnn (DiCello) and was married for 63 years before LuAnn's untimely death in 2020.
After graduating from the University of Dayton he started his career as a teacher and football coach at Lorain St Mary's and Lorain Public schools, retiring in 1989. He moved to Chandler, Arizona with LuAnn and lived there for over 30 years.
Chuck enjoyed playing tennis, hiking, gardening, traveling and especially cooking, where he got his greatest joy preparing meals for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Carmella Gemerek in 2024. He is survived by his sister Agnes Muzio, five children: Bob (Bonnie), Maryanne (Ernie), Kathy (Dick), Chuck Jr., and Jeanette. He was blessed with 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
A service will be held in Lorain, Ohio at Calvary Cemetery at a future date.

Chuck was such a wonderful man and a great teacher. I had him for biology in 8th grade at Irving Jr. High. My husband had him as a football coach at LHS. Years later when we married, we bought a house on King Ave. directly across from them! We were lucky to have both Chuck and LuAnn as wonderful neighbors. We often talk about them with fond memories.
