Charles Parrish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leonard Memorial Funeral Home & Cremations - Glen Ellyn on Feb. 16, 2026.
Charles "Chuck" M. Parrish, Sr. passed away on February 13, 2026. Born in Kiowa County, Kansas to John and Mary Parrish on July 16, 1936, Chuck grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and Great Bend, Kansas and lived most of his adult life in Glen Ellyn and Westchester, Illinois. He graduated from Loyola Chicago in 1958 and proceeded to work for 67 years in the financial industry in Chicago, retiring in January 2025. Chuck loved photography, family history, travel and especially music -- everything from opera to rock and roll. A loyal fan for all Chicago sports, Chuck was also a lifelong Indy-500 enthusiast, listening to the broadcast on the radio as far back as the 1950s. Chuck shared a vacation home in Muskegon, Michigan for many years which he enjoyed year-round with his family and friends. Most of all, Chuck loved creating memories with his family. Grateful to share his life: wife Rita, son Chip Parrish, daughter Kristen (Tim) Schadeberg, daughter-in-law Caitlin O'Neill, grandchildren Tessa Lueth, Nora (Matt) La Fronz, Alec Parrish, Anna Lueth, Sydney (Hunter Smith) Parrish, Grace Parrish, Tom Parrish, Andrew Parrish, great-grandchildren Isabella and Luca, and many nieces and nephews. Close friend Blanche Flosman shared many happy memories with Chuck as well. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Phyllis, Nadine and Cora, son David Parrish, son-in-law John Lueth, and daughter-in-law Debbie Parrish. The family wishes to thank his caregivers from Accurate Home Care, and the wonderful staff at Residential Hospice Services who took such great care of him these last months. Chuck lived a long and happy life and appreciated all of your love and support. Please address any memorials to NAMI Mental Health Awareness of Colorado: https://namicolorado.org/donate-now/ by web or NAMI Colorado, 3333 S. Bannock St, Ste 430, Englewood, CO 80110 by mail.

A memorial gathering will be held for Chuck on Sunday, February 22nd at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street in Glen Ellyn, IL. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a celebration of life service at 1 p.m.
