JoAnn Tucker Lee (Parrish), 87, of Madison, NC, formally of Colfax, NC walked through the pearly gates surrounded by her loving family on February 17, 2026. JoAnn carried many titles in life including, mama, Jo, sis, daughter, friend, and Aunt Jo but her all time favorite was mamaw.
JoAnn was a life long resident of the Colfax community and attended Colfax School. She worked for Sears Distribution Center for over 25 years until their closing, and ultimately retired from Linens ‘N Things Distribution Center to care for her parents.
JoAnn had a love for her family like no other and was the glue that held everyone together. She loved and was well known for her cooking, especially her pecan and coconut pies. JoAnn loved traveling, spending time with her family, and farming. The last 7 years her life has revolved around her “grandbaby”, Remi. She was so proud to be mamaw to Remi.
JoAnn is proceeded in death by her mother and father, Tommy and Doris Tucker; husbands, Bill Lee and Lee Parrish; brother, Jerry Tucker; and special friend, Ronnie Bullins.
Joann is survived by her son, Paul “David” Gray; niece, Cheryl Tedder (Todd); great-nieces, Tanya Adkins (Nate), Jaime Wall (Daniel), Taylor Tedder, and Kailey Tedder (Derrick); great-nephew, Colby Jones (Mason); great-great- nieces, Remi Adkins, Kinsley Wilson, Blakely Jones, Kaylee Adkins and Maggie Adkins; and great-great-nephew, Carson Wall. She is also survived by her step-son, Steve Lee (Romona); Brendle "Bubba" Morphies who she treated like a grandchild; and her best friend and cousin who was more like a sister, Linda Ricafrente.
The family would like to extend their greatest gratitude to Stephanie Fulton, Tanya Adkins, Nate Adkins, Cheryl Tedder, Linda Ricafrente, and Brendle Morphies for their loving care during JoAnns finally years.
Visitation will be held at Hayworth Miller-Kernersville Chapel on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4:30pm-6:30pm, and all other times at the home of Tanya Adkins. A graveside service will be held at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church (Colfax) on Friday February 20, 2026 at 11:00am with Rev. Randy Jessup officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trellis Palliative and Hospice of Stokes County.
The family has requested casual dress at both services.
