Charles A. Pickart, 69, of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at Dimensions Living. He was born March 28, 1955, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Laverne and Beatrice Pickart. He was the eldest of four children: Anthony (Debra), Catherine (Gary) Albrecht and Mary (Michael) Klapperich.
Charles served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1980 as a Calibration Specialist. During this time, he met and married Cynthia (Cindy) Book. They have three children, Sonja Pina, Adam (Meagan), and Molly. After serving with the Army, he continued his career in calibration, working in Massachusetts before returning to Wisconsin. After working as a computer professional for several years, Charles retired from the USDA as a food inspector in 2020.
An avid hunter, Charles enjoyed deer hunting. He also enjoyed lounging in his lazy boy chair, with a remote in hand watching sci-fi, anime and movies of all kinds.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Beatrice, mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and Donald Book, a brother-in-law George Book and nephew Joshua Book. Charles is survived by Cindy, his children Sonja, Adam, and Molly, grandsons Marcus, Jacob and Quincey, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Friday, May 2, 2025, starting at 10:00am, with a memorial service at 11:30am at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, WI.
In lieu of flowers, please, donate to the DAV and Wounded Warriors. The family would like to thank the staff of Dimensions Living in Appleton and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care of Charles.
