Charles Lee Porter, 76, of Centralia, passed away on September 10, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Charles was born on May 14, 1949 to James and Lucille (Ralston) Porter in Fairfield, Illinois.
Charles, a Fairfield native, lived a life filled with love, laughter, and warmth. He was fortunate to find his special partner, Bob Miller, later in life, and together they crafted countless cherished memories. Charles's passions included baking (especially peanut butter cookies!), cooking, crocheting, and knitting. He even had a signature style - his iconic daisy-duke shorts - which he would rock while tending to his lawn.

Above all, Charles treasured time with family and friends, spreading joy and love wherever he went. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to warm hearts. Charles may be gone, but his love and legacy will live on in those who knew him.
He is survived by two children- Donovan Porter and Rhonda (David) Hodge of Centralia; two granddaughters- Heather Hagston of Kentucky and Devin (Charles) Nunn of Carlyle; three grandsons- Jesse Gilbert of Michigan, Aaron Gilbert of Fairfield, Alec (Delta) Porter of Centralia; brother- Bud Porter; other beloved family members including Melinda Weibley of Posey and Sean (Ashley) Miller of Posey; twenty-two great grandchildren; and special partner- Bob Miller.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother- James and Lucille Porter of Fairfield, one brother- Jay Porter, one great-grandchild, and sister-in-law- Eloise Porter.
There will be no public services at this time. Maxton-Rosado Funeral Home, Queen-Boggs Chapel, in Centralia is honored to serve the family. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maxtonrosado.com or call 618-532-7321 for more information.
