Alvin Gene Greenwood, a devoted man who loved his family and friends, passed away at St Louis University Hospital on October 2, 2025. He was 79 years of age. Alvin was born in Du Quoin, a son of Pauline Miller and Medford Alvin Greenwood. Prior to his retirement, he had ran a tree service for the past many years. Alvin proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea for some time.
Alvin is survived by his friend, Melody, who he spent several years with. He is also survived by his children- Victor Greenwood, Alvin Greenwood, Kevin Michael Greenwood, Michael Gene Greenwood and Dakota Greenwood. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, nieces, step-children, his close and loving sister, Jeanetta Meyer, and his brother, Allen Miller.
Alvin was preceded in death by his dear mother, Pauline Miller, whom he dearly loved; his father, Medford Greenwood, and his step-father, Leroy Miller, who he had a great relationship with. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Gene Greenwood, whom he was very close to.
His love and legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of his loved ones. He will be dearly missed. There will be no public services at this time.
