Charles "Charlie" H. Prior, 60, of Coventry, beloved son of Gloria D. (March) Prior, passed away at home peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, January 24th, 2026. Charlie was born on April 19th, 1965, in Manchester, CT, the son of the late Charles (Chuck) H. Prior Sr. and Gloria D. (March) Prior.
Charlie was a dedicated hard worker, beginning in his teen years and following in his parents' footsteps, working on the farm. He milked cows at Heckler Brothers in Coventry and worked the fields at Botticello Farms in Manchester for many years.
After attending Windham Tech (1980-1983) and finally finishing up at Coventry High School (1984). Charlie worked in construction, primarily at Conyers Construction. Charlie moved on to work with his father for family friends at Sabrina Pools. He retired from working at Bob's Pool Service in Coventry.
Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, earning "Best Uncle" status by attending many demolition derbies and jumping in the mosh pits at concerts with his favorite girls, his nieces Paige and Melissa.
Charlie had a passion for NASCAR (A die hard Dale Earnhardt fan), especially after growing up at Stafford Motor Speedway. Additionally, Charlie was an avid UCONN Basketball supporter and watched his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Besides his mother, Gloria, he leaves his sister, Gloria D. Racicot (Eric); his sister Lora L. Prior and especially his devoted nieces Paige E. Racicot and Melissa D. Racicot of Coventry, CT. He was predeceased by his loving father, Charles (Chuck) H. Prior Sr., his brother-in-law, Eric Racicot, and his beloved German Shepherd, Otis. He will be missed by his many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
The family would like to extend many thanks to Charlie's friend, Peter Grady and family and his wonderful neighbors, Luke & Katrina Atkinson, for their support.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family TODAY, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester.
