Charles Reed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City on Mar. 2, 2026.
Charles Lee Reed, 60, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away at his home on Friday, February 27, 2026.

He was born on September 9, 1965 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Charles Albert and Eleanor (Goeller) Reed.

Charles had a passion for vehicles and the way they ran, leading him to the profession as a mechanic for Mike Kehoe Ford, and Joe Machens Honda.

Charles was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. He loved camping under open skies, casting a line into quiet waters while fishing, and firing up the grill for a family BBQ. Whether he was tending the flames or sharing stories around them, Charles created spaces where everyone felt welcome and at home.

Above all, Charles treasured time spent with his family. He had a special talent for turning ordinary days into lasting memories - especially when he was playing his famous jokes on the kids. His playful spirit and quick wit brought smiles, laughter, and sometimes a few good-natured groans to every gathering. Those moments of laughter will be remembered and retold for years to come.

He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his stories, his humor, and his love in their hearts. While he will be deeply missed, the traditions he built - camping trips, fishing outings, backyard BBQs, and playful pranks - will continue in his honor.

He is survived by his Wife; Pamela (Branch) Reed, Mother; Eleanor (Goeller) Reed, Daughters; Jessica Wilcox, LeighAnn Johns and her Husband Julian, Son; Shaun Reed, Brother; Daniel Reed and his wife Brenda, Sisters; Karla Schmolzi, Tammy Reed, Linda Reed, Donna Reed, Grandchildren; Julian Gonzalez, Marcus Gonzalez, Elijah Miller, Jaliyah Johns, Joseph Johns, Joule Johns, Jubileigh Johns, and Joi Johns.

He was preceded in death by his Father; Charles Albert Reed.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Care of his Grandchildren
