Patricia Libbert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City on Feb. 23, 2026.
Patricia Ann "Tish" Libbert, 73, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 7, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Gladys Bernice Steck. Tish graduated from Jefferson City High School, Class of 1970, and later attended Lincoln University.

On October 6, 1972, she was united in marriage to Dennis Lee Bernard Libbert, who preceded her in death on August 25, 2014. Together they shared many loving years of marriage.

Tish devoted her professional career to the State of Missouri, beginning as a Liquor Control Clerk and later serving with the Department of Revenue as an Administrator and ultimately as Administrator of the Customer Assistance Bureau, until her retirement in 2004.

She enjoyed gambling, traveling both professionally and personally, surrounding herself with flowers, and spending time by the pool soaking up the sun. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, friends, especially her grandchildren. Tish was known as the life of the party and lived life big.

Tish is survived by her daughters, Dawn N. Sweazea (Harrison) of Jefferson City and Deanne R. Aholt of Wardsville; her grandchildren, Audrey Bernice Klinger, Nicholas Lee Klinger, Andrew Michael Aholt, Miles Sweazea, and Kylee Hatch (Jarrett); her brother, Donald Steck (Debbie) of Russellville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law and best friends, Jimmy and Karla Libbert; as well as, Darrell and Debbie Libbert, Gary and Becky Libbert; godchildren, Shane Libbert (Morgan), Denise Sappenfield (Shad) and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her lifelong best friend Sassy Siebeneck, her mother and her beloved husband.

Friends will be received on March 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City. Funeral services will be on March 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dallas Henry of Capital West Christian Church officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Jefferson City Animal Shelter and Red Slipper Warrior Project.

Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com
