Charles Rhodarmer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford / Ray Funeral Home on May 13, 2025.
Charles Robert Rhodarmer, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on May 8, 2025. He was born on July 28, 1935, in Haywood County to Fannie Justice Rhodarmer, who passed away when he was just two years old. Following her passing, his father, Aldie Rhodarmer, married Ethel Clontz Rhodarmer, who lovingly helped raise him.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army for many years. Following his military service, he worked at Square D Company in Asheville, where he accomplished many things.
Charlie loved being by the water and fishing. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who referred to him as papaw. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and quiet strength.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Christie Faye Rhodarmer; his daughter, Evelyn Teresa; his grandson, Timothy Rhodarmer; his brothers Bruce, Carroll, and Harold Rhodarmer; and his sisters Nancy Broyles and Glenna Worley.
He is survived by his son, Chad Rhodarmer; his daughter Deborah; his grandchildren, Brysen Rhodarmer, Blaiden Rhodarmer, Austin Strickland, Diamond Rhodarmer, Caitlin Patterson, and Raven Hightower; his great-grandchildren, Graham Rhodarmer, Aster Rhodarmer, Waelyn Rhodarmer; his brothers Ronnie Rhodarmer (Nancy) of Candler, NC; Donnie Rhodarmer of Marshall, NC; and Calvin Rhodarmer (Rose) of Marshall, NC; and by his sisters Evelyn Cornwell of Mills River, NC, and Elaine Edwards of Holly Springs, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle "Chick" dearly and will carry his memory in their hearts always.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Rhodarmer will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Bryan and Donnie Rhodarmer will be conducting the service. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road, Canton, NC.
