Lulamae Rhodarmer

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lulamae Conard Rhodarmer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who we loved with all our heart and soul. She entered into her heavenly home on January 27, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Lulamae was born on April 28, 1941, to the late James Lloyd Conard and the late Polly Finney Conard. She had made her home in Haywood County, and she lived each day of her 84 years with grace, strong faith, and quiet strength. She devoted her life to taking care of her family and her home, and she poured her love into everything she did- from the beautiful handmade quilts she stitched with care to the delicious home-cooked meals she prepared for her family and friends.

Lulamae was a hardworker and she spent many years working in the tobacco fields and she also worked up wood alongside of her son, Robert, sharing hard work and treasured time together. Her great love for the outdoors showed in her joy for going fishing with her family, and the happy times they all shared planting and raising a garden will forever be treasured memories never forgotten.

Lulamae was truly a special lady, and her kind heart and her sweet smile will be missed by everyone blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Doramae Conard; a grandson, Robert Conard; her sisters, Mary Loust and Lottie Woody; her brothers, Hover Conard, David Ike Conard, and Jonas Conard.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her son, Robert Rhodarmer, Sr. and daughter, Debbie Rhodarmer; a daughter, Evalee Rhodarmer, and a son, James Rhodarmer; her grandchildren, Wiley Phillips, Clyde Phillips, Robert Rhodarmer, Jr. and (Carol "TJ"), Missy Conard and Josie Conard; great-grandchildren, Levi, Matt, and six other great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Gibson, Easter Rathbone; a brother, Bud Conard, and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. Reverend Terry Green will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Sutton Town Cemetery. Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Conard, James Lewis Conard, Jacob Conard, TJ Phillips, Jacob Rhinehart, and Robert Rhodarmer, Jr.; also serving as alternate pallbearers are Colt and Wiley.

Due to the inclement weather the funeral service for Lulamae has been resheduled to Thursday, February 5, 2026.
