Charles David Rigsbee

TIMBERLAKE: Charles D. Rigsbee. 58 years old, died January 8th, 2025 at Duke Regional Hospice Unit with his loving family by his side. Charles succumbed to complications from an anoxic brain jury he suffered nine years ago leaving him disabled and requiring total care. His sister Sara has been his caregiver over these many years. Charles lived with his loving parents in Timberlake, NC since his accident.
Charles was born in El Paso, Texas to the late Bobby Ray Rigsbee and Socorro Beltran Rigsbee on November 20th, 1966.
Charles is survived by his brother, Robert Beltran Rigsbee (partner Grover Jacobs) and sister, Sara Rigsbee (partner Ray Allen); nephew, John Rigsbee and niece, Elizabeth Allen; grandniece, Stella Rigsbee, grand nephews, Max Rigsbee, and Angel Rigsbee; uncles Roger L. Rigsbee, and David M. Rigsbee; aunts, Betsy R. Cox, Donna E. Carden, and Carol S. Yearn; and extended family Walter Ruell'.
Charles was a graduate of Durham Northern High School in Durham, NC in which he excelled in sports. Charles enjoyed fishing alongside of his late brother Paul Rigsbee and competed in numerous bass tournaments in the area. He had a love of NASCAR racing and had an impressive collection of racing and fishing memorabilia. Charles worked at the Food Lion Distribution Center Warehouse in Butner, NC until he suffered a heart attack while at worked. He enjoyed his work and was well liked among the other employees.
Charles had a great love of family and friends which he valued above all things.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14th at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. The pallbearers for the service will be Derrick Dunlap, Darren Harris, Rodney Williams, Derrick Parnell, and Gary Creech. The honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Williams.
