Charles Herbert "Herb" Rowell Jr., age 71, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on October 2, 1954 in Sikeston, Missouri, Herb was the beloved son of Charles Herbert Rowell Sr. and Ada Merick Rowell.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Alexander "Alex" Rowell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen Rowell; his children, Amy Pearson (Robbie), Lindsey Clark (Stewart), and Jaime Latshaw (Andrew); and his cherished grandchildren, Georgia, Samantha, Skyler, and Russell. Herb is also remembered by his siblings, Jo O'Meara (Brian), Stevie Rowell, Timmy Rowell, David Rowell, Tommy Rowell, and Jennifer Rowell-Scott (Paul), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold his memory close.

Herb dedicated his career to serving his country and community. He was a proud veteran, having retired from the United States Air Force, and working in civil service until his retirement. His commitment to service and his integrity were hallmarks of his character, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

In retirement, Herb found joy in tinkering around the house. He was an avid gardener and woodworker, enjoyed nurturing plants, and took pride in repairing engines. He relished good food and was especially fond of BBQ, often bringing family and friends together for memorable meals. Herb loved relaxing poolside and spending time outdoors, savoring the simple pleasures of life.

The family will hold a celebration of Herb's life at a later date, where his legacy, stories, and love will be honored among those who cherished him most.
