Charles "Chuck" Patrick Russell was a caring husband, father of 2 sons, and grandfather. He gained his heavenly wings on August 20, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his son, Mike (Michelle) Russell; and grandchildren, Ashleigh (Justin) Russell, Chanel (Derek) Hammons, Brittany (Kyle) Christenson, and Michaela Russell; along with his eight great grandchildren, Kaiden, Brynn, Gavin, Brantley, Harper, Willow, McKenna, and Connor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife,Katherine Russell; his son, Chuckie Russell; parents, Theresa and Charles Russell; and siblings, Caroline Hogan and Mary Stone.
Friends may meet with the family on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave. Cedar Lake, IN. A service will be held at 6:00 pm in the Burdan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Groves officiating.
Chuck was born to Theresa and Charles Russell on May 5, 1939. He loved life, family, and exploring the country while driving his big rig tanker until retirement when his full-time "papa" duties kicked in.
Chuck loved spending time in his garage wood working, dominating in a game Skip-Bo, cruising around on his golf cart, and binge watching some Gun Smoke. He devoted his life to helping others. He was a Lake Village Grange member and a member of the Morocco Masonic Lodge # 372, who assisted with many community events and volunteered in the special education classroom at the local elementary. He had the ability to light up a room and make you laugh until your belly ached. Anyone who knew or met Chuck instantly felt the contagious laughter and smiles he evoked. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
