Mine Hill: Charles S. Russo passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at VNA Hospice/St. Clare's Hospital/Dover General. He was 101 years of age.
Charles was born in Franklin, NJ and lived in Dover before moving and settling in Mine Hill since 1952.
Mr. Russo was an Engineering Technician for Picatinny Arsenal for 34 years, retiring in 1975. He belonged to the NARF, William J. Ryan, Chapter 424.
He was an Army Air Corp., WWII Veteran serving as a pilot and was a member of the American Legion Post 91 of Wharton.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Wharton and was in charge of their Happy Hours Club. For the past six years he attended St. Therese's Church, Succasunna.
Predeceased by his wife Genevieve (née Merrick) and his siblings; Robert, Tony, Sarah, Josephine & Virginia.
Survived by his Sister-In-Law: Christine Russo and nieces and nephew; Barbara Russo Grogan, Thomas Russo & MaryAnn Russo Roe.
Visitation will be held 11:30am to 1pm on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton followed by a 1:30pm funeral mass at St. Therese Church, 151 Main St., Succasunna, NJ.
Entombment will follow at Locust Hill Chapel Mausoleum, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles' memory to St. Jude's would be appreciated.
