Charles Sampson Obituary
McColl, SC
Mr. Charles Graham Sampson passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Charles was born on May 29, 1950, in Marlboro County, South Carolina to the late Henry Ervin Sampson and Lillie Mae Sampson. He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and his brother, Henry Ervin Sampson Jr. Charles valued working hard and spent over 26 years working as a glassworker at LOF. After his accident in 2001, he focused all of his attention to the things that he loved most: being with his wife and fur baby, riding motorcycles, going for rides in the car, going to Hendersonville, watching westerns, listening to doo-wop and old, southern gospel. Charles attended Living Water Church of God. Most importantly, he loved his family and taking every opportunity to spend time with them.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; wife of 52 years, Lorraine Sampson; his special fur baby, Tickle; daughters, Tammie Goff and Sondra Sampson (John Wismer); brother, William "Alton" Sampson (Sharon); sisters, Joyce Burton and Cindy Murr (Danny); grandchildren, Sydney Dubreuiel, Madison Goff, Ashley McCoy, Austin McCoy, Alyssa Holifield (Jeff), Abby Cox (Eli), and AJ McCoy; great-grandchildren; Collins Smith, Holly Long, Axel Blair, John "Nixon" Farrer, Jayden Cox, Tristan Cox, Colton Holifield and a multitude of friends and family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Crescent Hospice-especially Shirley Erwin and Jamie Prevatte-for the exceptional and compassionate care given to Charles.
A funeral service will be held 3pm, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Living Water Church of God in Laurinburg, NC, with burial at Rogers Cemetery in McColl, SC. A visitation will be held from 2-3pm just prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Living Water Church of God, 13200 Blues Farm Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
