Charles Sand Obituary
Charlie Sand, 10, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee, surrounded by his supportive family and held tightly by his loving parents. He was born on April 2, 2013, in Chicago, IL, the son of Brett and Ashleigh (Robbins) Sand. Charlie recently completed fourth grade at Huntley Elementary in Appleton, WI. Charlie will be remembered for his amazing kindness, his powerful bear hugs, his infectious laugh and unique sense of humor, and his stubborn attitude that won over so many. Charlie was a big fan of Octonauts, Daniel Tiger, Little Einsteins, and Mickey Mouse, who he was lucky to finally meet in Disney World, earlier this year. Those who knew Charlie know just how much he will be missed by his family, who dedicated so much of their lives to his care. We will always love you with all our hearts. We love you too much!
Charlie is survived by his parents: Brett and Ashleigh; sisters: Violet and Aria; paternal grandmother: Jan (Nelson) Sand; maternal grandparents: Dawson and Deborah (Cameron) Robbins; aunts and uncles: Karin Sand, Jon and Krista (Sand) Robinson, Kyle and Laura (Bossaer) Robbins, and John and Elyse (Robbins) Allen; cousins: Ella Weiss, Lauren Weiss, Emma Robbins, and Dawson Robbins; as well as many friends and family.
Charlie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: David Sand.
A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at the Grand Meridian, 2621 N Oneida St, Appleton, WI 54911 on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Charlie’s name to the JDRF Wisconsin Chapter at either jdrf.org or send to 1800 Appleton Rd. Ste 2, Menasha, WI 54952.
