Charles W. Scott

COHOES Charles W. Scott, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born and educated in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Tracey Scott. He was a veteran of the US Navy having proudly served as a gunner's mate during WW II. He worked for many years at Nashua Co. (Behr Manning) in Watervliet until his retirement. Prior to that, he had been employed at Bendix in Green Island, Garden Way in Troy and at the Harmony Mills in Cohoes.
Chuck was a true craftsman who could fix anything and enjoyed working outdoors. He always loved to spend time at home tending to his garden and was especially proud of his tomatoes. In his younger years, he also enjoyed bowling and belonged to a local league.
Chuck was the husband of Patricia White Scott who passed in 2003. He is survived by his loving children, Charles "Danny" Scott of Virginia Beach, VA and Marcella "Marcy" Ballard (Richard) of Cohoes; and by his grandchildren, Jade Hall (Shelton) of Clifton Park and Charles D. Scott, Jr. of Virginia. He is also survived by his two great grandchildren, Olivia and Gabby as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Champine and Mary Whitney.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow with military honors in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. prior to the service.
