Charles J. "Chuck" Sessa
August 10, 1948 – February 17, 2025
Chuck Sessa passed away peacefully on February 17 at his home in Cumming surrounded by his loving family and in the care of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice.
An Army veteran, he had battled several years of declining health due to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) due to exposure to Agent Orange while serving in Vietnam. While in service, Chuck received both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
Mr. Sessa was born August 10, 1948, in Jamaica, NY. He was the oldest son of the late Charles and Lucile Sessa, and brother to Joan Roper (NY), Raymond Sessa (NY), and Michele Realbuto(FL).
He retired from Primex Plastics in Oakwood, GA, after 25 years. An avid car fan, Chuck was an active member of the SSR Fanatics car club and was always ready to assist members and friends with their trucks. He enjoyed traveling with both his family and the car club and did so until his health prevented it further.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan. He is survived by his devoted wife Jody Sessa of Cumming, daughters Melissa Sessa of Dawsonville and Suzanne Sessa of Cumming. Other family members include brother Raymond Sessa of Long Island, NY, sister and brother-in-law Michele and Joe Realbuto of Palm Coast, Florida, nieces Katie Sessa, Lucy Dunn, and nephew Michael Realbuto, as well as numerous cousins in both NY and FL.
Family will receive friends at Little and Davenport Funeral Home on Friday, February 21 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at 6:00 pm led by VFW Chaplain Matthew Pesce.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate in his memory to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice.
