Mr. Jack Cleveland Hurt, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully in his residence on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Flowery Branch, Georgia. He was born to the late Joseph L. Hurt, Sr. and Lula Belle Martin Brown in Gainesville, Georgia.

Mr. Hurt attended Main Street School and later graduated from Gainesville High School. As a teenager, he delivered newspapers, worked at Royal Theaters, and the Collegiate Grill. Through his adult years, he worked as a manager for Twin Oaks Hatchery, Logistics Manager of CWT Farms, and Chick Master Incubator Co where he was able to travel worldwide for the poultry industry. He was also a member at Central Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International North Hall Camp.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Drewery Loggins and Mr. Alvin Bagwell will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.

Mr. Hurt is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John B. Hurt and Joseph L. Hurt, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Hurt of Flowery Branch, GA; children, Rita Turnipseed (David) of Cookeville, TN, Jack Hurt, Jr. (Patty) of Lula, GA, Lisa Gaines of Gainesville, GA; sisters, Karen Hurt Chastain (David), and Rhonda Allen Crenshaw (Bill) of Gainesville, GA; Sister In- Law Barbara Hurt of Rutledge, Ga and 5 grandchildren. And Many Nieces and Nephews. He is also survived by his good friend, Lou Sharp.

Flowers will be accepted or donations to Good Samaritan Food Pantry, 1220 McEver Rd, Gainesville, GA 30504 and Eagle Ranch, 5500 Union Church Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542.
