Mr. Charles "Chuck" Elwood Thompson Shotwell

Age 71 of Friendsville, Tennessee passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at Beech Tree Manor. He was born September 08, 1954, in Washington, DC. Chuck proudly served his country as a Military Policeman in the United States Armed Forces, where he trained dogs and built a lifelong love for German Shepherds. He was known for his adventurous spirit, enjoying fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He also had a special interest in caring for unique and exotic pets, including foxes, which reflected his deep appreciation for animals and nature.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Elwood Thompson; Mother Mary Rose (Smith) Shotwell; and adopted father, Pastor James Shotwell. He is survived by his children: Jason (Samantha) Shotwell, Nicholas Shotwell, Tisha Adams, and Kristen Adams-Johnson; grandchildren: Jordan, Ella, and Layla; siblings: Herman (Margie) Shotwell, Tanya Shotwell, Ellareain Wagner, Edmund (Annette) Shotwell, and James (Angela) Shotwell; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will cherish his memory.

A service to honor and celebrate Chuck's life is being planned, with burial to follow in Barlow, Ohio.
